Big Canoe Fitness Center and Swim Club

Big Canoe Fitness Center and Swim Club

The Big Canoe Fitness Center and Swim Club complex has an Olympic size outdoor pool, a 7000 sq. ft. indoor fitness center with aerobic and strength equipment, racquetball court, 5-lane indoor lap pool, juice bar, aerobic exercise area, two indoor tennis courts, a 200' waterslide and a snack bar.

The Swim Club house is on the white sand beach of Lake Disharoon. The Swim Club is the site of many functions. We have BBQ's, dances, New Years parties in the indoor tennis Court. The outdoor pool is open from Memorial Day to Labor Day.

Adjacent to the Swim Club is a 500 acre Nature Trail for hiking along by the streams. It's 3 miles from the swim club to the upper fall. You pass the old log cabin and the lower falls. I know of no other place where a family can spend a whole day in the woods and feel completely safe.

The BIG CANOE® Community is a family place. The Property Owners Association even publishes a monthly newspaper so you can keep up with all the activities or you can come here and do nothing at all.

How do you like your fun?

Do you unwind best with strenuous activity? Then try the health and fitness center. Swim laps in the lap pool, run on the treadmills. Perhaps you would prefer to be outdoors. Take a mountain bike ride to the top of Sanderlin Mountain, which rises to 3200 ft above sea level, or hike through the 400 acre Nature Valley.

Not your cup of tea? Then spend the day on the golf course or tennis courts. Try fly fishing for trout or wet your lure in search of bass.

Prefer something a little more low key? Rent a pontoon boat for an afternoon cruise, or sit by a waterfall. Photograph the geese. Watch a sunset. Read Charlene Terrell's book - Wolfscratch Wilderness.
